ABSTRACT
Describes the geographical and spatial concepts (“spatial thinking”) that are frequently called upon to inform how statistical method is applied to spatial and spatial-temporal data for description and explanation. We describe why mapping matters. Taken together, Chapters 1 and 2 are designed to promote a fusing of two reasoning processes – one spatial the other statistical.
