ABSTRACT

Introduction Tenosynovitis, or inflammation of the tendon sheath, is a misnomer since not all

cases demonstrate classic findings of inflammation. It can be loosely classified into two broad categories: infectious or overuse/stenosis. This chapter will focus on stenos ing tenosynovitis of the dorsal compartments. Stenosing flexor tenosynovitis of the digits (i.e., trigger finger) is discussed in a separate chapter in this book.
