ABSTRACT

Indications General indications for replantation include amputation of multiple fingers, the

thumb, the hand, or any part in a child. Loss of a single finger (excluding the thumb) is a relative indication for replantation; many surgeons will attempt replantation of distal digital injuries if at least 4 mm of intact skin proximal to the nailfold is present. Replantation of ring finger avulsions may be attempted, especially if one of the flexor tendons remains intact.
