ABSTRACT
Tendons are composed of spiral bundles of Type I collagen, ground substance, elastin, and mature fibroblasts termed tenocytes. Individual collagen bundles are covered by an endotenon. The bundles are organized into fascicles surrounded by a paratenon. The outer layer of the tendon is termed the epitenon.
