ABSTRACT
Introduction The thrombotic microangiopathies (TM) are a group of diseases which share the
traits ofmicrovascular occlusion, thrombocytopenia, and microangiopathic hemolytic anemia. Common to these diseases are a dramatic presentation and often fulminant illness. Although these diseases share some common characteristics, course and prog nosis may vary.
