ABSTRACT

In todays cancer management, there is a strong clinical imperative to identify disease-specific biomarkers to improve diagnosis, prognosis and to predict as well as monitor treatment efficiency. Advances in high-throughput omics technologies have vasdy increased the space o f prospective molecular biomarkers. Although each omics technology plays important roles in cancer research, different omics platforms have different strengths and limitations. The systematic integration o f vari ous omic data can prove advantageous for accelerating cancer biomarker discovery. In this chapter, we review the current applications o f integrative omics technologies to cancer biomarker discovery.
