ABSTRACT

Humans are among the piscivorous mammals that are the definitive hosts in whom the C. sinensis and Opisthorchis species undergo sexual reproduction. The flukes reproduce asexually in several species of snails. which are the first intermediate hosts. Various freshwater fish and crustaceans serve as the second intermediate hosts. The geographic distribution of human clonorchiasis is related to both the areas of population of the aforementioned snails and marine animals. as well as the local culinary and hygiene habits concerning said animals.
