ABSTRACT

Patchy lymphocytic infiltrate defines a group of conditions in which there is a marked infiltrate throughout the dermis that is arranged in well delineated patches, generally with a perivascular, interstitial, and a periadnexal distribution. It usually involves superficial and deep dermis. Traditionally there were five conditions associ­ ated with this type of lymphocytic response (5Ls). A few more have now been added as shown in the table below.
