ABSTRACT

Introduction Pre-invasive disease o f the female genital tract encompasses the cervix, vagina and

vulva. The primary goal o f screening and treatment o f these disease processes is to prevent the progression o f pre-invasive disease to invasive carcinoma. This chapter focuses on the etiology, risk factors, screening strategies and treatment modalities for pre-invasive disease o f the genital tract, with primary emphasis on pre-invasive cervical disease.
