ABSTRACT
Carcinoma o f the endometrium represents the most common gynecologic malig nancy in the United States and accounts for more than 90% o f all malignant neoplasms affecting the uterine corpus. This disease has a particular geographic distribution, with highest incidences found in North America and Europe and much lower rates in eastern Asia and Africa. In 2008, approximately40,100 new cases will be diagnosed and 7,400 women will die o f this disease in the United States.
