ABSTRACT
Pinta is a leukomelanodermic cutaneous disease autochthonous of Latin America that has almost disappeared. The course is chronic and benign. In its early stage it produces erythematous scaley plaques, and in the late stage it produces dyschromic lesions. It is contagious, non-venereal and it is caused by Treponema herrejoni (T. carateum).
