ABSTRACT

This parasitosis is caused by larvae of dipterous insects that reside in the tissue of warm-blooded animals. It affects humans only occasionally. Cutaneous myiasis (from the Greek mya = fly) is a primary dermatosis ( Int Dermatol 1995; 34(9):624-6) or secondary complication of wounds and ulcers ( Piel 1989; 4:319-24).
