ABSTRACT
Viral warts are benign, epidermal tumors. They have a low risk of transmission and are caused by human papillomavirus (HPV). They are characterized by raised, warty or vegetative lesions and are classified as flat (verruca plana), common (verruca vulgaris), plantar or acuminata. They are self-limited and remit spontaneously without leaving a scar.
