ABSTRACT
This chapter discusses the two most important forces that act on vehicles: tire forces and aerodynamic forces. Tires provide contact between the vehicle and the road surface, and while traveling a vehicle encounters aerodynamic forces. We study the effects of tire forces, aerodynamic forces, and rolling resistance forces on acceleration, braking, and wheel slip.
