ABSTRACT

This set of data suffered from lower rates of user response. This was  to be expected; some projects do not track budgets closely. This is often the case in internal projects, where effort is tracked but because the customers are internal, budget is not tracked. In other cases, budget numbers were not managed by the project manager but were confidential at the senior account level. These issues were reported in the comments sections of the survey by some respondents. Therefore, for analysis of agile effort or budget effort, only the subset of the valid 1,386 cases which also had valid agile or budget data was used. There were 1,037 projects that had adequate data for analysis.
