ABSTRACT
Dynamic nuclear polarization (DNP) is a phenomenon caused by
quantum-mechanical properties of a spin system. Under certain
conditions electron spin polarization can be transferred to (taken
over by) neighboring nuclear spins leading to a considerable
increase of nuclear spin polarization. In this chapter a theoretical
background of the DNP phenomenon is presented.
