ABSTRACT
The aim of this chapter is to introduce some basic concepts about
amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). We start by outlining the
concepts of motor neuron diseases and the clinical features of ALS,
and present some recent clinical case studies. This will act as a basis
to understand the subsequent chapters.
