In a patient with a bail out situation after PTCA of a proximal LCX stenosis, a 3.5 mm Palmaz-Schatz stent was implanted with 8 atm. (left lower image). A high-pressure PTCA with a 4.0 mm balloon at 18 atm resulted in a clearly visible further increase in stent luminal area. However, in this case no perfect 'circular' geometry of the stent could be achieved.
