ABSTRACT
As minimally invasive surgical procedures increased in the early 1990s, patients benefited from significantly reduced recovery times. However, the OR staff was hurled into a new age of technology, with little or no preparation, leading to signifi cant procedural down time and inconsistent delivery of the appropriate instrumen tation, equipment, and ultimately patient care.
