ABSTRACT
Achieving symptom relief in advanced heart failure is a challenging task. There is a negligible basis of specific research on which to base treatment. Even the clinical experience that has been anecdotally reported is sparse. There is, however, a wealth of evidence about symptom relief in other illnesses, most notably cancer, that gives a basic framework from which to start.1
