ABSTRACT
INTRODUCTION The purpose of this chapter is to discuss the factors which should be considered in establishing a management system for the maintenance of equipment used to attain and assure compliance with requirements. [f this equipment is not well maintained, its service life and reliability may be reduced resulting in the need to take compensatory action by which to attain and assure compliance or, in the absence of compensatory action, the need to derate, curtail, or even stop operations.
