ABSTRACT

INTRODUCTION Th is chapter will present an overview of evidence-based education (EBE) and how it can be applied to the education of health professional students. A defi nition of EBE

will be presented, reasons why EBE is signifi cant will be discussed and then sources of EBE will be considered. Th en two models of EBE will be introduced: one related to general EBE and a second, more complex, framework that deals with EBE in a health professional education context.
