ABSTRACT

For this chapter, we will look at the management of the individual IT goal in support of the organization to provide the technologies to help the business units succeed.

Up until now, we have been looking at the business process and how IT helps the business become and remain successful. IT itself is a business process that has the day-to-day business issues and the support processes like HR, accounting, purchasing, and other back-office business units. They have sort of a circular relationship since IT supports each of the business processes as a provider of equipment and services; yet IT is a customer of each one of those business units as well.
