ABSTRACT
There is currently much talk about advance care planning, and it is increasingly being promoted and discussed in the UK, reflecting changes in recent legislation, such as the Mental Capacity Act.1 It is anticipated that it will be an important key part of the new NHS End of Life Care Strategy.2
