ABSTRACT

In non-virtualized datacenters, several different applications are often needed for each operating system to obtain measured performance statistics. System administrators spend time analyzing charts and reports generated by these applications to determine if the CPU, memory, disk I/O and network I/O resources of their physical servers are adequate. Often, a physical server will only be taxed on one resource. For example, a server may be running low on memory while still having plenty of CPU resources unused. These unused CPU cycles are wasted resources, reducing a company's ROI (Return On Investment) expectations.
