ABSTRACT
Absorption into the blood is significantly influenced by the route of administration. In addition to the intra venous route, which bypasses the absorption process, the important routes of administration are oral, inhala tional, topical, transdermal, subcutaneous, intramuscu lar, and buccal or sublingual (Table 2-1). Less com monly, the intra-arterial, intrathecal, and rectal routes may be used.
