ABSTRACT
My education about workers’ compensation began in 1986 when I started working for 1199, National Health and Human Service Employees’ Union. As Occupational Safety and Health Director, I suddenly became aware of issues I had previously overlooked as a worker. I could now relate the dangerous incidents I had personally witnessed to issues of occupational health and safety.
