Other cognitive concerns are the affordances of the device and materials. Do they meet the expectations of the users? Do they take advantage of prior knowledge?

Last, does the meter provide useful information? Literally, can the user understand and use the information as it is provided? Is there extraneous information present, or is the wrong information emphasized? Distractions and the need to inhibit distraction will absorb many of the resources needed for the already complex task.
