ABSTRACT

Learning based on mobile technology can be seen as a bridge between theory and practical experiences, which inherits the advantages of e-learning and covers the restrictions of time and place of learning. This paper describes the main ideas and the architecture of an ongoing study on a learning system called Intelligent Mobile Learning Interaction System (IMUS) that provides a mobile learning environment for people with learning disabilities. IMLIS is based on personalized learning strategies and feeds the learners with personalized contents, interactions and presentation formats in order to engage them for learning activities with new motivations. The suggested methodology defines a comprehensive learning process for the target group to support them in formal and informal learning. We apply knowledge from the field of research and practice with learning disabled people as well as pedagogical and didactical aspects in the design.
