ABSTRACT

In health care the use of medical technology plays a central part in the diagnostics and treatment of patients. To achieve efficient use and high patient safety, an impmiant approach is to incorporate knowledge about the user and the use in the design process, and then utilise methods for evaluation of ergonomics and human factors aspects of the devices. The evaluation methods can be used in product development processes to detect and mitigate potential problems, but also m hospitals during equipment purchasing as well as a base for staff education.
