ABSTRACT
In order to maintain environmental compliance and mission readiness for the U.S. Army industrial base, it is necessary to assess the environmental impacts of munitions compounds. Informed decisions on the development of waste treatment technologies can be made by a close examination of the physical properties of munitions compounds. Information on the physical properties will help predict the environmental fate of these materials and make it possible to select appropriate methods of prevention and treatment of hazardous effects on the environment.
