ABSTRACT

A signal x(t) is deterministic if it is a function in the real number fields or the

complex number field. The parameter t is referred to as time. A signal x(t) is

called periodic in time if there exists a constant T such that

x(t) = x(t+ T ),∀t : −∞ < t <∞. (C.1) Otherwise, the signal is said to be non-periodic. If a signal is periodic, then

the smallest value of T that satisfies (C.1) is called the period of x(t).
