Organising and running real-time, co-operative enterprises

ABSTRACT: Mass customisation and customised mass production are important, highly interrelated issues which are to be taken into account when organising and running real-time co-operative enterprises. The main aim of the paper is to illustrate some approaches and solutions for organisational design, planning and execution in this field, based on the EUROShoe European research project and the VITAL R&D project started in 2004, within the Hungarian National Research and Development Programme. On the basis of the experiences gained in the two projects, important research issues are enumerated, which are to be addressed in the coming future by the European research policy and solved within the frameworks of new research projects.
