ABSTRACT

The part-set or partial threading of the guide bars extends the patterning possibilities of the warp knitted structures significantly and allows the building of structures with openings and larger mesh cells to be created. For any structure where partial threading is used, the information about the threading for the guide bars - which needles are empty and which have yarn - has to be provided in the specification. There are different ways to manipulate the pattern for samples with partial threading. Partial threading is used for the creation of mesh type structures where smaller or larger openings are available. Simple fillet structures are produced using two guide bars with partial threading and some of the basic lap in counter-lapping for the guide bars. Creation of different types of meshes or profiles is possible for a combination of asymmetric laps too.
