ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT: The aim of the study presented in the paper is to estimate the effect of the 3-piece bogies’ design on the motion resistance by simulation and comparison with the results determined by empirical formulas used for calculation of motion resistance of railway rolling stock in Russia. The paper presents method for determine the rolling resistance of energy dissipation at oscillations. The significant difference in energy consumption between the results obtained by the simulation and calculation by empirical formulas was found out.
