ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: The paper introduces a new vehicle dynamics control concept for electric and hybrid electric vehicles. Based on a hybrid actuator system consisting of friction brake and electric traction machine, the functionality of energy harvesting during vehicle deceleration is extended by additionally maintaining wheel slip control. By means of intelligent actuator interaction it is possible to enhance vehicle safety without neglecting energy efficiency. The effectiveness of the proposed control concept is shown with the help of simulations and test bench measurements.
