ABSTRACT

Speciation analysis of metal and organometallic compounds is an important topic because the toxicity, bioavailability and mobility of elements in the environment and biosphere are critically dependent on their chemical species. Elemental speciation in real-world samples is challenging work because of the sample matrix concomitants and because the elemental species usually occur at low concentration levels. Therefore, sample pretreatments are usually required for enriching the target species, and for target isolation from the sample matrix.
