ABSTRACT
Attempts to reduce or eliminate populations of freshwater snails in Africa have been concentrated on the intermediate hosts of schistosomes; the control of Lymnaea has been undertaken in only a few places (see Chapter 6: Fascioliasis). Control measures have been applied experimentally against Lanistes, a herbivore, in rice fields (Crossland, 1965).
