Its effect on feet can be loss of sensation and numbness and for this reason the patient may not recognize any cuts and wounds as soon as they occur and the problem can continue for some time without treatment which subsequently can become infected. Also callus can be produced due to unfit shoes. The callus usually puts pressure on the deeper layers of the skin which can be converted into blood blister. The centre of callus, being softened by blister, then can convert to an open sore.
