ABSTRACT
Immersion microscopy is a general term for techniques to modify
the geometry of the dielectric in a way that emission from at least
one point is almost normal incident. By this, total internal reflection
can be prevented. Hence immersion microscopy is ideal to profit
from the enhanced fluorescence intensity of point-like quantum
emitters embedded in dielectrics.
