Assessing the inhalation exposure to airborne nanomaterials requires characterization of the workplace aerosols. These aerosols can be characterized using various metrics, for example, the particle number, surface area, or mass concentrations. These concentrations can be measured either as particle size-resolved distributions or as size-integrated total concentrations.
