ABSTRACT
The biology of the AR has been the focus of significant attention over the past several years. Transcriptional activity of the AR can be induced by ligand dependent and ligand independent mechanisms as well as coactivators. Undoubtedly, the molecular and functional status of the AR play an important role in the endocrine dependence of prostate cancer and over the past years has also been focus of various therapeutic interventions.4
