ABSTRACT

Immunohistochemistry and molecular biological techniques are becoming ever more powerful and important tools for distinguishing different types of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL). Currently, these techniques are in the early phases of use for staging and monitoring CTCL. We believe that in the future, immunohistochemistry and molecular biological techniques will be utilized increasingly for these purposes

as well as for diagnosis. Before we detail the techniques and their implications, we review the nomenclature involved.
