ABSTRACT
The decommissioning industry continues to rene and expand guidance for conducting D&D-related activities. Characterization is certainly no exception. Recognizing the need for characterization guidance the ANSI/HPS N13 Standards Committee sponsored a national standard (ANSI N13.59) titled, “Characterization in Support of Decommissioning” using the Data Quality Objectives Process (2008). is recent addition to the bookshelf of many D&D professionals provides a technical approach for designing characterization surveys using the DQO process.
