ABSTRACT
Geothermal energy refers primarily to the generation of electricity from the stored heat in the Earth’s crust. Other uses of geothermal energy for process or space heating are termed direct heat. Geothermal power may be natural (i.e., from emissions of steam and/or hot water). In addition, cold water may be injected into deep wells where it is heated and returned to the surface for use.
