ABSTRACT
The objectives of this chapter are as follows:
Understand what elements or components are required in a business associate contract.
Determine some of the new regulations with the Omnibus Rules.
Understand what type of liability a covered entity has under a business associate agreement or contract.
Understand what rights or requirements a business associate has under an agreement with a covered entity.
Understand some of the other arrangements that could be developed between another organization and a covered entity.
Determine what specific requirements there are for group health plans regarding the security of electronic protected health information.
