ABSTRACT

Extreme hydrological processes are often very dynamic and destructive. In recent years, we have observed major flooding events such as in 2008 in Iowa and Hurricane Irene in 2011, which impacted the eastern coast of the United States. Several other events in the world were very destructive as well, like the major flood in Pakistan in 2010.
