ABSTRACT

Understanding natural processes of the Earth system as well as the interactions of its different components with man-made activities-especially in the context of global climate change-has been recognized by the global scientific community as a very urgent and important research direction requiring attention for further investigation (e.g., Battrick et al. 2006). In this framework, being able to accurately estimate parameters such as the fluxes of latent (LE) and sensible (H) heat is of great importance, given their relevance to a number of physical processes of the Earth system, their central role to the global energy
