ABSTRACT

ShaŠ Noor Islam is a lecturer in euro hydro-informatics and water management, at the Brandenburg University of Technology at Cottbus, Germany. He holds his PhD in environmental sciences. He was also working as a guest lecturer in the Master Program, Urban Management, at the Technische Universität Berlin, Germany. He has postdoctoral research experience on food security issues, and presently he is the candidate of habilitation (Dr.rer.nat.habil.) research degree on the topic “Ecosystem Services and Food Security under ¥reat in the Mega Deltas of Asian Coastal Regions: An Analysis on the GangesBrahmaputra-Meghna Delta,” in the Chair of Ecosystems and Environmental Informatics, Brandenburg University of Technology at Cottbus, Germany. His main activities are in the interdisciplinary water resource research on water salinity and mangrove ecosystem analysis. Wetlands and coastal resource management and climate change impacts on food security and ecosystem services are the focus research ¤elds. Transboundary water and char-land management strategies, encompassing groundwater quality and urban water supply and ecology management issues, are more subjective interests. He has published 42 articles in international journals and books. He has research experiences in China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Germany, Poland, Denmark, Italy, Spain, France, Netherlands, Sweden, and Mexico.
