ABSTRACT

Reading is an important part of human civilization both in education and heritage. Traditional reading by books enables multi-sensory experiences including expression (text narrative) and vision (seeing the picture). However, comprehensive reading may be difficult while knowing limited vocabulary and organizing content is definitely challenging to most people. This situation leads readers to misunderstanding the content and also makes people frustrate. Frustrating thinking reduces the learning ability and enjoyment of reading. One solution is to improve the reading skill by better understanding the whole content through storytelling, such as the folk festival book. Another solution is to apply information technologies that allow people to actively get the transmission of the intended content in the digital world. In order to enhance and increase culture reading and learning, the objective of this research is to develop a tablet game based on the technology of Augmented Reality (AR). With such a system, the content can be offered by animation and games. Readers can read less text and experience the rebuilt festival stories when they have difficult time to read and need more information update.
